Cooper was established by two siblings namely John F. Schaefer and Claude E. Hart back in 1914 when they bought M and M manufacturing company that produced tyre repair kits and tyre cement and over a year later they acquired another company by the name of The Giant Tyre and Rubber Company and moved their business to Ohio. The company was renamed to Cooper Tyre and Rubber Company in the year 1946. Cooper expanded its network worldwide manufacturing new products, new plants and overall market. Cooper was placed amongst the Fortune 500 companies in the year of 1983 as one of the largest Industrial companies in the United States of America. Cooper also acquired Avon Tyres and Mickey Thompson Performance Tyres claiming itself as one of the largest tyre manufacturers globally.
